Steven Soderbergh directs Matt Damon in an intriguing, odd and very funny role as Mark Whitacre, a scientist-turned-executive at the food conglomerate ADM, who blew the whistle on his company over price-fixing. He tells the feds everything ... well, not quite everything. And we're treated to a movie in which we hear the lead character, as well as the thoughts in his head. A twisty, turny script, some sly direction, and solid acting, make this one of Soderbergh's best romps. (ES)
