Sports Illustrated's go-to basketball analyst, Seth Davis, has Gonzaga's men's basketball team as one of his preseason predictions to reach the Final Four.
Davis also has the Zags as his best mid-major team on the national scene: "I'm just waiting for the law of averages to kick in and see the Zags enjoy a Butleresque breakthrough to the Final Four," he says. "Elias Harris could end up being the highest draft pick selected from this program, and I love the shooting touch of Steven Gray."
(As you'll see in the College Basketball Preview in our Nov. 11 issue, coach Mark Few would like Gray to concentrate a bit more on his shooting touch and a bit less on his acting. In the photo at right [by Young Kwak for The Inlander] from last week's Gonzaga production of Romeo and Juliet, Gray has a knife at his throat; and that's Zag forward Kelly Olynyk in the back on the right.)
