Out for Spokane Restaurant Week: At Twigs with Dan Dickau

The Inlander asked a handful of local public figures to tell us about their Spokane Restaurant Week experience, and what they look for in local dining. Read additional responses and other previous coverage here.

Last week, former Gonzaga basketball star Dan Dickau and his family went out to eat at Twigs for Spokane Restaurant Week. His wife chose the house salad, pepper salmon and chocolate peanut butter mousse cake, while he ordered the cajun calamari, butternut squash gnocchi and creme brulee.

“I like almost any kind of pasta with butternut squash, but this was some of the best I've had,” Dickau reported.

He answered some additional questions from The Inlander:

What kinds of food did you love as a kid, and what kinds of restaurants and cuisines do you prefer today?

As a kid I loved pizza and pasta. I still do to this day, but also like Thai food, sushi, good barbecue and any kind of sandwich.

How did you like your first visit to Twigs?

We thought the atmosphere might be too "businessy" for our family with kids, but once we were seated it was very nice and comfortable.  We will definitely go there again sometime.

What do you think of Spokane Restaurant Week?

I enjoyed having an invitation to go to a restaurant we have driven by many times and hadn't had a chance to try yet. This shows there are a lot of good restaurants and you don't particularly have to be in the downtown area to find them.
