Steve Gleason and Pearl Jam on ESPN

Posted By on Fri, Oct 4, 2013 at 12:39 PM

We've been following Steve Gleason and his noble battle against ALS for the past few years. And this summer, Spokane helped his cause by celebrating the second-annual Gleason Fest fundraiser.

Gleason is a rock star in his own right. First as a star football player locally at Gonzaga Prep and then Washington State before playing in the NFL. Now, he's hanging with the rock stars of Pearl Jam, who've long been fans of Gleason — and vice versa.

To preview their upcoming album, Pearl Jam selected four prominent individuals to interview them about the record and history. One of those people was Steve Gleason. The others were Judd Apatow, Portlandia's Carrie Brownstein and professional surging legend Mark Richards.

The music of Pearl Jam will also be prominently featured in a segment about Gleason's battle against ALS on NFL Countdown on Sunday morning on ESPN.

In the meantime, here's the whole Pearl Jam documentary featuring Gleason as one of the interviewers.
