Carrie Scozzaro has made a living and a life with art: teaching it, making it and writing about it since her undergrad days at Rutgers’ Mason Gross School of Art. Her writing can be found in back editions of
Big Sky Journal,
Kootenai Mountain Culture,
Sandpoint Magazine,
WSU Magazine, and
Western Art & Architecture. She has contributed writing and occasionally photography to the
Inlander since 2005.
A longtime public school teacher, Carrie’ sees her role as a writer to educate and celebrate the region’s diverse arts, culture and food scene. Among her recent work for the Inlander are features about
folk art, the legacy of Spokane icon
Harold Balazs, and the importance of
art in rural communities.
