Chey Scott is the
Inlander's Editor, and has been on staff since 2012. Her past roles at the paper include arts and culture editor, food editor and listings editor. She also currently serves as editor of the
Inlander's yearly, glossy magazine, the
Annual Manual.
Chey (pronounced “Shay”) is a lifelong resident of the Spokane area and a graduate of Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. Over the years, her work has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists and the Association of Alternative Newsmedia for stories on
AI’s impact on local artists,
rural historic preservation projects,
regional history, along with several profiles on artists and local businesses.
Before joining the
Inlander, Chey was a reporter at the
Spokane Journal of Business. While studying at WSU, her work was featured in
The New York Times. She was also a regular contributor to WSU's student newspaper,
The Daily Evergreen.
