Visitors to the Park Silly Sunday Market know that the weekly party held during the summer months in the ski town of Park City, Utah, is anything but a typical farmers market.
Sure, you can buy all manner of goodies, from arts and crafts to tasty food and beverages, but the Park Silly vibe is all about community — hanging out with friends, meeting new ones, and maybe buying a few things here and there while you wander the vendors booths. As a longtime Utah resident, I spent more than one sunny Sunday strolling and getting silly.
Now Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Airway Heights is hoping to capture a little of that same scene with a new series of Sunday street festivals kicking off July 14 and running each Sunday for five weeks from 11 am to 5 pm.
The resort plans to turn Grand Plaza area in front of the hotel into Quest Sunday Fest, and planners looked to the Park Silly Sunday Market as inspiration. That event has grown over the past 13 years to include more than 250 vendors and attracts an average of 13,000 guests each week.
Of course, Park Silly didn't start that big, and Quest Sunday Fest is just in the process of putting together a slate of food booths and food trucks, artists, live music, prepared food, performance art and nonprofits to draw a crowd.
