Behold
the sun’s tent
the deposition of popcorn
hives of pink sugar
fingered men
knuckles black and puckered
from absence
smoking like Turks
I am faint
with patchwork grandeur
So, I unroll
my brindled life
the big
slip
Lo
I’m off to marry
the Carnival King
who will screw
to perfect snugness
all the bolts I’ll ever know
