UPDATE: Klink's on the Lake
Jeff Ferguson
She\'s worried that he\'s violating the \"don\'t eat anything bigger than your head\" rule.

On the banks of Lake Williams, 15 miles southwest of Cheney, Jerry Klink’s restaurant and resort, aptly named Klink’s on the Lake, is heading into its 24th summer season. The lake is stocked with a Kamloops hybrid cross — a rainbow trout species that will grow up to 18 pounds by mid-summer — but you don’t have to worry about catching your own dinner, because the restaurant recently rolled out a new menu with additional pasta dishes, salads and certified Angus steak.

Chefs Trevor Bradley and Jerry Schrader (formerly of Just Jerry’s and Cannon Street Grill, respectively) prepare pan-fried oyster specials on Tuesdays, serve up a breakfast buffet on Saturdays and Sundays, and offer new dishes like shrimp and grits — large white shrimp sautéed in lobster-tomato broth ($14.90) and artichoke heart soufflé with crab. All of the restaurant’s sauces and dressings are made in-house, and their meat and fish are never frozen. The sirloin-brisket burgers, coupled with happy hour and a sunset, make this a worthy destination season after season.
