SPORTS: Will Maupin chides the national sports press for once again being late to the party in acknowledging the Gonzaga basketball team's athletic talent — specifically, Gonzaga forward Rui Hachimura — and doing so rather begrudgingly and dismissively. We see you, ESPN.

NEWS: As promised, around 9:30 am on Nov. 26, activists and homeless individual formed a "wall" around the belongings of homeless people outside of Spokane City Hall to protest a rumored eviction of their camp outside the building. However, despite eviction notices getting posted by the city over the weekend, the cleanup never happened. A spokesperson for the city says that none of the campers will be cited under any ordinance.

Tom Konis takes lead in Spokane County Assessor's race
Konis, a Republican, has overcome his 1,100 vote deficit to lead his opponent, fellow Republican Leonard Christian, by 152 votes, per the latest ballot drop. The comeback has been attributed to his strong showing in the city of Spokane. Christian's base, in contrast, is in Spokane Valley and rural parts of the county. (Spokesman-Review)

North Idaho & Eastern Washington law enforcement get Naloxone
In response to the opioid epidemic, the Pend Oreille County Sheriff's Office and the Newport Police Department have secured access to naloxone — a medication often applied as a nasal spray that can reverse heroin overdoses — for some of its deputies. (KTVB)

Spokane County might increase property taxes
County commissioners will decide today on whether to approve a 1 percent property tax increase to fund basic services, road construction and land conservation. The tax would generate roughly $542,000 for the county's general fund, $300,000 for its roads fund and $20,000 for preservation. (Spokesman-Review)

Manafort (allegedly) lied to Mueller — and he's pissed
Prosecutors working for special counsel Robert Mueller claim that Paul Manafort, Donald Trump's former campaign manager who was indicted for money laundering and other charges, violated his plea deal by repeatedly lying during interrogations. Mueller's attorneys could refile the charges against Manafort that they previously agreed to dismiss for his cooperation. (New York Times)
