ELECTION: Today, you might have heard, is election day. What's at stake? Nationally, the balance of the Senate and the House, starting here in Eastern Washington with the race between Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Lisa Brown. Locally, there are several important races in both the state Legislature and for two open Spokane County Commissioner spots. Check out this page for all our coverage this year on the elections. And go vote before 8 pm!

NATION: President Donald Trump, the New York Times says, is closing out a midterm campaign "built on dark themes of fear, anger, division, nationalism and racial animosity." Another reason you might want to go vote!
