Hangouts
Off-campus: Rico's is a popular place to study. There are two movie theaters in town within three blocks of each other. For the 21-and-older set, two popular bars, the Coug and Valhalla, are located on the same block as many fraternities and sororities.
On campus: Of course, the Student Recreation Center, with its state-of-the art exercise facility, is a popular hangout. The CUB has three places to eat, including a Taco Bell. It also includes a Cyber Cafe with a big-screen television and computer stations. The New Holland Library is popular, too, and it includes a graduate student computer lab. There is also the Daily Grind in the Bookie where students can get lunch or coffee and study with friends.
Events
The Volleyball Cougar Challenge Tournament begins on Aug. 31 with games against Bradley and Boise State. The Coalition for Women's Studies Expo is on Sept. 4 in the CUB Mall. And don't forget Cougar football, as the Crimson and Gray have one of their best home schedules in years, with visits from Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State and UCLA.
New in 2001
White Hall has been newly renovated and will be open for use this Fall. The new name of the building is Honors Hall. The Livestock Pavilion is also in the process of being renovated.
