If it seems like you’re hearing more from our former congressman, George Nethercutt, it’s because you are. Although Nethercutt still makes his home in the Washington, D.C., area, he is in Spokane about once a month. Not only has he kicked off a new monthly column here in The Inlander, but he’s now a published author, too.
In Tune With America: Our History in Song is on bookshelves now, and you can hear Nethercutt and his co-author Tom McArthur read from it this week. They’ll be at Auntie’s tonight at 7 pm, at the Coeur d’Alene Press on Friday at 2 pm and at the River Park Square Atrium on Saturday, April 17, at 3 pm. No telling whether they’ll bust out a verse of “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” but you never know.
Nethercutt’s next column in The Inlander will appear on May 13.
