I Hope

I saw you sitting on the stairs listening to "The Lady of Shallot" and "She
Walks in Beauty." I hope I get the chance to read them to you again
tomorrow and again the day after 'till we are old and gray. I'm so madly in
love with you and so very sorry for my many failures. I know that I may
never get another chance to be with you but know that I'm glad for every
day that we have been together. Even the difficult days. As I told you last
night, loving you makes me want to be a better man. This situation is the
worst thing that has ever happened to me but I'm thankful for the changes
it has caused in me. I love you more now than I ever have and I'll love you
more tomorrow. I want to be your best friend again. I want be your partner
and put you first. I want to encourage you, have fun with you, grow with
you and be the best husband I can be. Please give us another chance. If I
can speak truth to you no longer, if truth you cannot hear How can I
continue speaking, my love, my friend, my dear? All I do to show I love
you, feels forced and fake to you Though, sure as the sky above you, each
day my love is new. You feel love for me no longer, perhaps it's there but
deep down I'll keep loving you like breathing, still loving you forever
bound I must fight 'till you won't let me, I must love and fight for you.
