2013 Short Fiction Contest deadline just two weeks away

Consider this your two-week warning.

The Inlander's 2013 Short Fiction Contest closes at 11:59 p.m. Nov. 22, just 14 days away. You now have just two weekends left to pen that brief, but poignantly beautiful, masterpiece.

Remember the theme is "Bridges." You can make that as concrete or abstract an inspiration as you want. Write away. Show us how expertly you can twist that theme into whatever you really wanted to write about.

Surprise us.

Some of you might have started into National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), which kicked off Nov. 1. That's laudable, but our Short Fiction Contest seems much more reasonable.

Give it a try.

We've had some early submissions rolling in, but we're looking forward to seeing what we get in the next couple of weeks.

Surely you're using the extra time to really craft your brilliant, funny, terrifying, heart-wrenching prose — not just procrastinating. Email submissions as an attachment to jacobj@inlander.com.
